Geography of Artemisa

It borders on the West with Pinar del Río province, on the North with the Florida Strait and the Gulf of Mexico, on the South with the Gulf of Batabanó and on the East share borders with Havana and Mayabeque provinces.

The territory characterizes mainly by flat areas that belong to the Southern karsic plain. The province is crossed by Sierra del Rosario from west to east, the most important mountain range in the country’s Western region with the major peak “Pan de Guajaibón” (699 m.) in the province’s westernmost.
