Nature tourism reserves attractive proposals in Cuba

The 12th edition of Nature Tourism Event in Cuba Turnat-2019 from September 24th to 28th, supported by Ecotur, offers hiking-trail activities, lake-and-river tour and birdwatching.

Leisure industry lovers may enjoy sports such as fishing, diving and canopy. Turnat-2019 will show the public the historical and natural richness of Cienaga de Zapata (natural marsh in the southern area of Matanzas province), declared Biosphere Reserve in 2000, that shelters the best-preserved wetland in the insular Caribbean.

It gives refuge to more than 900 species of plants, 160 of birds, three of them endemic: the gallinuela of Santo Tomás, the Ferminia and the cabrerito de la ciénaga, and several mammal species, fishes, amphibians and reptiles such as the Cuban crocodile.
