Natural Attractions in Jardines del Rey, Ciego de Ávila
Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo are located in Ciego de Avila's Northern Keys. Both retain an incredible aesthetic and recreational value.
The flora is an attractive present throughout the area, for the good state of conservation and high endemism. As far as the fauna, more than 200 species of birds are inventoried, also mollusks and reptiles abound. There are a number of important charismatic species: the dolphin, chelonians such as the loggerhead, hawksbill, lobster and crab, while flamenco has established one of the largest colonies in the country south of Cayo Coco. Two prominent freshwater lagoons are integrated into the Jardines del Rey hydrological system, La Leche Lagoon and La Redonda Lagoon. Both inscribe wonderful landscapes and their channels are ideal for recreation and fishing.
Other natural elements of high significance are the dunes of Playa Pilar and Punta del Loma del Puerto, Blue Holes, Playa Los Pinos, Yuraguano, Boquerón and La Loma de Cunagua forests.
