Sancti Spíritus has been for years the main headquarters of Cuban children's literature, ”said Esteban Llorach, National Edition Award, as a summary of the days in which writers, critics, professors and designers from different territories debated around the dedicated literary landscape to the kids.
Among the main figures of literature in Sancti Spíritus, Rigoberto Rodríguez Entenza stands out, considered by specialized critics as one of the significant authors of contemporary Cuban literature.
Of his poetic work, the renowned Cuban critic Enrique Sainz has said: “The constant mutation of sensations and images, the representations of an event that accumulates vertiginously and barely allows us to contemplate the facts, as if the poet wanted to apprehend a fragment of the reality in their writing, they testify that we are facing a work that is part of one of the lines of Cuban poetry of the twentieth century, perhaps the most finished and enduring fruits, of a severity that places it among the best examples of Latin American lyric after 1950.
