In this natural panorama, the Peninsula of Guanahacabibes stands out, typified as a Biosphere Reserve of exceptional natural values, a safe setting for the reproduction of three types of marine turtles-green turtle, loggerhead, and hawksbill-that choose the coasts of the peninsula to nest, today called its extreme protection, for being endangered species. This area has one of the beaches with the best seabed in all of Cuba, María la Gorda, where the International Diving Center is located.
