Cuba demonstrates its preparation in bio-safety protocols to guarantee safe and healthy tourism, María del Carmen Orellana, First Deputy Minister of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), told the press at the inauguration of the Cóndor airline flight to the Varadero Beach resort.

The MINTUR official said that the Iberostar chain and its facilities in Varadero, Iberostar Bella Vista and Iberostar Taíno hotels received visitors, tour operators, travel agents and others who came to check the hygienic-sanitary measures to face the current winter season.

Over the years, Cuba demonstrated its ability to receive clients in the safe destination that it is, and in times of the pandemic that is hitting the world, it is possible to protect visitors, workers in the sector and the people, said Orellana upon arrival of the aircraft with 224 visitors on board.

Alexei Torres, marketing director of the Spanish chain, expressed satisfaction at inaugurating the operations on the Hicacos Peninsula with this flight of the Cóndor tour operator, and highlighted the Iberostar Varadero hotel, flagship in the main tourist center of sun and beach of Cuba and expressed his happiness to receive tourists from Europe.

He assured that tourists will enjoy a quiet and healthy stay in this, the so-called high tourism season in the largest of the Antilles, and considered that in the Caribbean area, Cuba makes a difference due to its high standards of health and bio-security for having 24-hour health personnel on site.
