Santa Maria consolidates its purpose of publicizing the wealth of the heritage city of Camagüey and, at the same time, promoting the enjoyment of national and foreign visitors who choose the destination attracted by its values and idiosyncrasies; as well as other attractions in the region, including the Santa Lucia spa.
For 20 years, the Provincial Tourism Company of Santa Maria City has committed to offering a comprehensive product in the historic center of Camaguey for the enjoyment of the traditions and values of the city, whose oldest segment holds the status of Cultural Heritage Site.
With two dozen units and more than 400 workers, it offers in the former town of Santa Maria del Puerto del Príncipe, one of the first founded by the Spanish colonizers in Cuba, to locals and foreigners accommodation services at the América Hotel, gastronomic with various restaurants and cafes, shops, pedicab transport and photography.
Among its restaurants and cafes, all in high demand, are La Bigornia, El Bodegón de Don Cayetano and La Isabella (which takes its name from the Camagüey actress Isabel Santos).
One of its star establishments is La Estrella store, inaugurated in 2018 and specialized in the sale of cigars, first in the province of Camagüey with around 27 brands of the famous Cuban product.
It also sells other articles related to cigars and incorporates gastronomy in a bar in the same establishment. (Jorge Luis Moreira Massagué, ACN)
