Cinema in Camagüey, Cuba

In Camagüey there is the only street dedicated to cinema in the whole island: A tribute to the seventh art made through films from different countries and different times. In Ignacio Agramonte Street, from Maceo to Independencia, all businesses have been named with the title of a film related with the activity that they develop and both the interiors and window panels are set in relation to the film that names them. Works of art by important local artists complete the context of the street.

The city also hosts two major events related to the cinema: the National Workshop on Film Criticism, each year, and the Camagüey International Video Art Festival (FIVAC), on a biannual basis.
