The Camagüey fairgrounds, is a large exhibition space that was built on the premises and grounds of an old power plant. Composed of several buildings, restaurants, kiosks and amphitheater, it is ideal for holding large events.
Main cultural events in Camagüey:
Camagüey celebrates in a special way on February 2, the anniversary of the foundation of the city, as well as the week between June 24, St. John's Day and June 29, St. Peter's Day, between these two dates are celebrated the parties known as San Juan Camagüeyano, our carnival. Another festival of special significance is the Fiesta del Tinajón, where all the artistic manifestations of the province are revealed.

It was first held in November, 2007. It brings together all cultural expressions and is sponsored by the famous Cuban musician Adalberto Álvarez.
Salón Provincial de Artes Visuales Fidelio Ponce (Visual Arts Fest)
This event, celebrated every two years, promotes the province’s visual arts. It supports the exchange of experiences among local creators by means of multiple exhibitions organized by the Provincial Visual Arts Council. Some provincial and municipal cultural institutions award prizes to the best works. The event also includes the Theoretical and Critical Workshop of the Visual Arts.
San Juan Camagüeyano (carnival)
This traditional festivity originated in the 18th Century and is considered the most popular in the region.The celebration starts each June 24 and runs for a week with performances of dancing and colorful parades performed by folk music bands from the different neighborhoods of the city which evoke the festival’s African roots.
Semana de la Cultura (City anniversary festivities)
It takes place in the first week of February to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the provincial capital. It is one of the most outstanding cultural events in Camagüey.
