High flora and fauna endemism, beautiful landscapes, rivers, valleys and many more...
It is located in the Guamuhaya Mountain Group or Sierra del Escambray, about 800 meters above sea level, where you can see pine wood formations of extraordinary beauty. This park is very close to the city of Trinidad and the San Luis Valley or Valle de los Ingenios, both declared as Cultural Heritage of Mankind by UNESCO in 1988.
There is a high flora and fauna endemism. Many trails allow you to discover the beauty of its landscape and you can delight yourself with the bird sing. The rivers create deep valleys in the mountains and their slopes cause impressive waterfalls, as the Caburní.
A beautiful vegetation that surrounds this waterfall is the home of the national bird, Tocororo (Priotelus Temnurus), whose plumage has the same colors of the Cuban flag: blue, red and white. You can also find here the national Flower: Butterfly (Hedychium Coronarium Koenig).
Topes de Collantes is located about 20 kilometers from the city of Trinidad, founded in 1514 by Diego Velázquez, and about 350 kilometers east of Havana.
Its weather conditions are exceptional, with a temperature that ranges between 16 and 25 Celsius degrees. This microclimate favors the habitat of more than 100 bird species, 45 percent of which are endemic to the country.
Here you will find caves, narrow rivers, gorgeous waterfalls and many more…
