Guardalavaca beach faces the Atlantic ocean. Its warm, quiet, turquoise blue waters, are protected by coral reefs, 300 m. into the sea, creating an ideal microclimate for sea life.
Located very close to the sea front, this All Inclusive resort it is the deal place to enjoy family vacations. It is an excellent choice to perform weddings, vow renewals and honeymoons. It has a broad range of service and great diversity in the offers.
At 3 kilometres long it's one of the smallest beaches in Cuba to make our list, but it's still worth a visit. It's protected by coral reefs 300 metres out, making it a fascinating microclimate for sealife.
Guardalavaca was one of the first places visited by Christopher Columbus on his arrival on the island. During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries was refuge for pirates in the region. This area was also the seat called rescue trade, which was the name they gave the locals smuggling with the buccaneers made from the skins of cattle in exchange for European goods.
At about 28 kilometers from the town of Banes, Guardalavaca in the early twentieth century it was only a stranger haven where in times of storm farmers kept their cattle, hence its name.
