It has a traditional or historical center, where the town was founded, which presents a Service Center where the largest number of services to the population are concentrated and where the oldest buildings of greater historical and architectural value prevail, and from which it was growing around the city. The center of the city of Artemisa is an area where uses and values not available in other areas of the settlement are concentrated, and where the regularity of the population, both urban and rural in the rest of the municipality, is permanent.
Monuments
Cafetal Angerona
The ruins of the Angerona Coffee Plantation, currently a National Monument, attest to the splendor of coffee cultivation that earned the region the nickname "Garden of Cuba". From the old coffee plantation, part of the dwelling house, the mayoral's house, the system of wells for storing water, the confinement walls of the slaves and the watchtower are preserved. The complex, one of the most complete and authentic of the time, was declared a National Monument on December 31, 1981 by Resolution 41; for its historical, cultural and architectural values.
Antonio Maceo Monumental Complex
Located in three municipalities in the province of Artemisa, it covers the route followed by the mortal remains of Antonio Maceo and his assistant Francisco Gómez Toro, after being rescued by Colonel Juan Delgado, until their burial in El Cacahual. It consists of various plates and allegorical monuments located along the route.
Mausoleum of the Martyrs of Artemis
Mortuary enclosure built on July 16, 1977 in tribute to the brave young men who fell on July 26, 1953 in the Assault on the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba, an action that did not have military success, but which was the fact that marked the beginning of a new stage in the fight against the Batista dictatorship. It is located in the Artemisa municipality, in the Artemisa province.
