Geography of Havana
Havana, capital of the Republic of Cuba, is located in the west of the country, between latitudes 2°58', 23°10' north and longitudes 82°30', 82°06' west. The total area of Havana is 726. 75 km², being the smallest of the provinces with 728.6 km² of surface.
Its coastline limits to the north with Florida Strait, in the south connects with the provinces of Mayabeque and Artemisa, in the east with Mayabeque province and to the west with Artemisa province.
Located in the plain Havana-Matanzas, it is characterized by a coastline where its bay is located and the arena beaches to the east. La Havana hydrography it´s not very extensive, being the most significant the Almendares river.
