Diving and Snorkeling are other of the nautical activities in Cienfuegos, at the Rancho Luna beach, more than 30 points of immersion await your visit.
Dive in the southern coast of Cienfuegos in practicing this sport in one of the most beautiful places in Cuba. Caves, labyrinths, vertical walls, more than 10 sunken ships, all framed between the mysteries and whims of the coral formations full of tropical species and a paradise of submarine photography.
On the zone we have secure diving all year long due to its meteorological and oceanographic conditions, in great transparency of the clean waters that contribute the current of the gulf, allowing a very advantageous visibility.
The temperature of the water is generally high (between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius), with very few cold days (between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius), during the December-February season.
The platform of Cienfuegos coast, like almost all of Cuba, is narrow, a few hundred meters from the beach, reaching great depths, practicing diving between 6 and 40 meters, approaching the abysmal vertical drop.
In addition to the large number of sponges, gorgonians, flora and fauna in general, a special motive is the sunken ships, which because of the position and conditions allow the diver to practice the underwater sport without risks of any kind, as well as wrecks of all the eras that are seen in the funds bordering the coast and also inside the bay.
The prevailing currents and temperature are important indicators for the development of different life forms, which allow us to have the largest specimen of column coral (Dendroggyra cilindrus) reported in Latin America. Many divers know it as "Notre Dame" Or "Lady of the Caribbean", for its remarkable majesty and beauty.

Description: The site is in the vicinity of the lighthouse "Las Coloradas" so it is also known as the tongue of the lighthouse or crown of the lighthouse. Description: The site is near the lighthouse of Las Coloradas, it shows the remains of the English cable, as it is commonly known by the nationality of the company that installed these lines of communication that went from Cienfuegos to Santiago de Cuba, by the east, and The south coast of Havana, to the east. The same settled on April 26, 1876, to connect our city with Santiago de Cuba and allow telegraphic communications with the U.S. and Europe. During the Spanish - Cuban - American War in 1898, Cienfuegos was blocked by the US Navy, and lines of communication were cut, with the support of Cuban troops on the ground. The dive course begins at 10 m / 33 ft deep, from the coral reef and you can see the cables falling into the depths. The remains of the cable are conquered by marine life, showing beautiful sceneries, especially where the cables are suspended between the reefs. Coral life is abundant, as are gorgonians, small coral fish, and remains of sunken ships.

Description: This site is located in the coral reef west of the center of the Diving zone. The coral is known as Notre Dame or Lady of Caribbean and is a huge column of coral formation, dendroggyra cilindrus, approximately 5 m/17 ft. high from its base, 9 m / 30 ft. deep, to the highest column. Although the main attraction is to contemplate this magnificent coral, there are many other coral formations and canals that make the diving very pleasant. There are also remains of two sunken ships where they shelter small multicolored fish. But undoubtedly, the protagonist of this submerged garden is the majestic coral Notre Dame that is recognized as the largest column coral in Cuba of all those who know each other.

Description: This site has a very peculiar configuration and training that exceeds the whims of the rugged platform in this area. Its different channels allow making to four routes or circuits from its starting point, hence its name. The most liked and complicated circuit is a tunnel that descends up to 30 m / 99 ft. deep, where you can see numerous sponges and gorgonias of interesting shapes. One of the major attractions is the exit to the slope while observing the intensity of it at the end of a tunnel.

Attractions: Sunken ship, wall, coral life, canals and tunnels.

Description: Here is a ship of steel sunk to a depth of 16 m / 53 ft on the sand, observing in its vicinity interesting formations of the madreporite; Mushroom coral banks that cover the underlying rocks giving way to steep canals leading to a slanted wall where sponges are very attractive for their color and shape. It is not dangerous to get into the boat, because it has no obstructions, having several exits.
Guajimico. (20 diving zones)
Another very attractive diving area is Guajimico located on the south coast of the island of Cuba on the road that links our city to Trinidad, in an environment of natural purity, attractive forests, caves and small hidden beaches. Its seabed is characterized by the presence of walls, tunnels, massive corals, Venus sea fans and tropical fish. Recommended dips: the Poza, Orange Mouth, Boca Ambuila, Gunabana, Ceiba, Farallón, Real, Blue Lady and Paradise.
