The heroic burning of Bayamo, which occurred on January 12, 1869, was one of the greatest patriotic feats of the Cuban people in their struggles for national liberation. Each year, the Bayamese people gather in the Hymn Square to remember this historic event.

National Arrieros Event
It is interesting its 3 days that begin with a ride in mule to the museum La Otilia, in addition a long day of lectures, visits to farms of recreation, fairs, handicrafts exhibitions, all endorsed by the artistic talent of the territory including the participation of the Eastern Organ manifestation considered like leader in the peasant activities, peasant guateques. Sindo Garay Popular Music Festival

Celebrated in Bayamo City since 1984, this festival commemorates the birth of legendary Cuban musician Sindo Garay. It aims to recognize the musical work of composers and performers of the Granma province. A theoretical event on Cuban popular music and the life of Garay and a musical contest of trova and traditional Cuban music is held, an excellent opportunity to appreciate the work of Granma musicians and other relevant artists of the country.

Celebration born in Bayamo, birthplace of Cuban nationality, in 1994.
